Celebration!

[It's not often that the entire Pride Lands can come together for a single purpose, but this is certainly one such occasion. It's been one year now since Prince Simba was born, and the entire Kingdom has turned out to honor him, and his father Mufasa. Everyone from the giraffes and elephants to the rhinos and hippos to the storks and hornbills to even the anteaters and warthogs has turned up, not to mention the rare appearance of Scar's entire pride of lionesses - who rarely venture into the Pride Lands at all. Even Scar himself is up there on Pride Rock with his mate and his own cubs, a truly extraordinary sight indeed. The younger King often preferred to remain on the outskirts with his lionesses, or would keep to himself, out of sight, in the back of Pride Rock.

Perhaps most incredible of all, though, is that lions of other prides, and even leopards and cheetahs - big cats nearly never welcome in the territory of lions, are all present, and gladly so. When King Mufasa calls for every animal in the Kingdom, none are left out.

Of course, this means the area around Pride Rock is starting to get preeeetty crowded...]

[Despite the fact that Scar had decided to arrive to pay some form of tribute to his nephew, he certainly hadn't done so with any sort of enthusiasm. At the very best, he simply looks bored now, and has even gone so far as to start yawning.]

[On Pr- just kidding this kid is everywhere at once]

[With this being the first birthday Simba's ever experienced, coupled with the first big celebration like this that his father has held during his lifetime, the young cub is making sure to enjoy each and every second of it. He can be found running up and down Pride Rock before bounding through the legs of the assembled animals, laughing, playing, and bouncing around with his excitement practically radiating off of him.

Zazu can be seen circling quietly overhead every now and then, making sure to keep a sharp eye on the young Prince just in case he decides to try to wander off during all the commotion.]

Hey birthday boy!

[Kovu leaps out of nowhere, trying to pounce his cousin hard enough to knock him over and pin him.]

[Simba growls playfully in response when Kovu jumps on him, but avoiding getting pinned really isn't his strong suit so it's not really all that hard for Kovu to do.]

Aarrgh, do birthday boys always get pinned?

Yep. Unless you wanna get dunked in the water hole instead.

[Kovu laughs his smug little laugh before letting Simba up.]

[Ha ha nyeehh- Simba shakes his head a little as he gets back to his feet, but it isn't long before he's sneering.]

Pff, as if you could catch me long enough to do that!

[Overlooking all the things]

[Be it far from Mufasa not to throw such an extravagant affair for his young son. Though, for Zazu, it's a bit more of a stressor than an actual celebration. It's only been a few hours and he's nearly run himself ragged trying to keep an eye on Simba while still making sure everyone is present and accounted for. Before too long he's forced to find a boulder to perch on and catch his breath, his wings sagging at his sides.]

[Scar seems to be taking far too much pleasure in the hornbill's difficulties.]

[Zazu just sighs and reaches up to rub his temples, closing his eyes for a moment.]

Ooohh if that child of your brother's can manage to stop hip-hopping around for one moment I might be able to.

Oh believe me, I'm aware. But....I suppose it is his highness's birthday, after all.

[Simba, Simba, Simba, what's so special about that brat? Other than that he has a shiny coat, Oooooo GOOD FOR HIM. Rolls his eyes as he watched everything from the side. Seriously, was there nothing better for him to do than this?]

[OH-WHOOP-FATHER IS AROUND. Sits straight up, tries to look attentive as he possibly could shakes his head into a nod.]

Ah-Ah yes sir-! I mean yes, it's um, it's um... a... Fascinating festivity?

Why are you? If you're not then-Maybe I shouldn't I mean, if that's haha-Ah, you know...

[Looking down.]

Cause ya, f-family time stuff.

[Scar rolls his eyes.]

You're hardly convincing anyone.

[There might be a few bits of fruit just kinda...raining down onto your head. Not a lot, just a tiny drop of juice, or a small piece, barely even a spec, but man it's getting kind of annoying...]

[There's a wild dog squeezing himself down and around through the rows of animals, a wide grin on his face as he nods his head and greets just about everyone he passes before moving on. He doesn't even know a quarter of the subjects here but that's no excuse to not be sociable.

Is he looking for somebody? Just enjoying the celebration? Who really even knows?]

[Aviva was just behind him, the female wild dog sat on her hind legs, as she lifted her brow at him.]

Not looking for trouble already are ya?

[One ear swiveled back, and he turned around, his grin automatically turning innocently sheepish.]

Hah-what? Who me? Nnneverrrr.

[He grinned, tail wagging a little behind him.]

H'I was hopin' to get a glimpse of the Birthday King. ...S'harder than it looks.

[Maybe he should have camped out over night.]

[Oh really? Aviva snickered as she got back up her tail wagging slightly as well.]

Hmmm, well how about we try and get a better look than here, maybe we can find a some place that has a higher level.

Hah, I've been tryin', h'but it's pretty, well...packed!

[Somehow he keeps ending up with the elephants no matter which way he goes. He doesn't mind that persay, but it's not helpful if you're trying to see.

He's game for trying again though.]

[Kovu tilts his head a bit, not sure what to make of hte enthusiastic canine with the wagging tail.]

[He stops and blinks at that, then laughs, sitting back on his haunches.]

Hah, nah, not all of us.

[He looks up in thought a moment and chuckles a little.]

But my brother's a lot like me though.

How do you guys not get eaten all the time? You're really annoying.

[You'd think a cub raised by Scar and Zira would be a bit more subtle with the insults.]
